Ecuador, a beautiful country with diversity of ethnias, cultures and nature; located northwest of the Latin-American continent bordering to the north with Colombia; south and east with Peru; and west with the Pacific Ocean.

It has an area of 283.560 square kilometers, including the Galapagos Islands, located 1.000 kilometers from the continental territory.
There are four natural regions: the Coast, the Sierra, the Amazon and the Galapagos Islands. The country is divided into 24 provinces and its capital is San Francisco de Quito.

Ecuador’s population is around 13 million inhabitants. It has reached a great cultural development, possesses a unique biodiversity, plenty of natural resources and huge mountain peaks such as Cotopaxi volcano, the highest active volcano in the world.

Besides petroleum, bananas and roses for export, Ecuador is one of the greatest producers of fine cacao of aroma (Cacao Fino de Aroma), referred as the “Cacao Nacional or Cacao Arriba”, which is used as a raw material for the preparation of fine chocolate, which is considered an irresistible pleasure.

In 2006, the company, Ecuatoriana de Chocolates, under the brand name of CACAOYERE, meaning “cacao garden“, resumed preparation of gourmet chocolates for export, in compliance with quality standards demanded from the international market.

Product texture and finesse has met customers’ exigencies in the whole world and specifically in Germany, England, United States and Chile.
